District 33 Street Tree Stewardship Map

In support of District 33’s larger Street Tree Plan, BetaNYC worked with the Office of Council Member Lincoln Restler to develop the District 33 Street Tree Stewardship Map. Specifically, the map supports the district’s goal of fostering better care for its existing street trees by providing a platform for residents to claim responsibility for one or more trees in the district. The map displays each of the district’s street trees, along with its attributes and estimated ecological benefits. Clicking on a tree leads to a “Steward This Tree” button, along with tree care guidelines.

Developed as a supplement to NYC Parks’ Tree Map, the District 33 Street Tree Stewardship Map offers the district the additional benefit of tracking progress toward its goal of better street tree care.
