Host a Digital Literacy Class with BetaNYC

Bring free, hands-on learning to your community. We offer three classes for all skill levels.

Viewing Upcoming Classes
Promotional flyer from BetaNYC titled “Host a Digital Literacy Class with BetaNYC.” The flyer features an illustration of a person seated at a desk using a computer with multiple monitors displaying charts and graphs. Text invites community organizations to bring free, hands-on learning opportunities to their communities and highlights three class offerings.

The first offering, “Intro to AI” (virtual via Zoom), teaches participants how to understand and use AI tools, ask better questions, and explore practical applications. The second offering, “Mapping for Equity: Field Mapping Workshop” (in person), introduces participants to mapping public amenities and open-space equity using OpenStreetMap, followed by a data-entry session. The third offering, “Introduction to Open Data (NY & NYC)” (virtual via Zoom), teaches participants how to explore and use public datasets related to topics such as 311 services, health, safety, and quality of life.

Additional information notes that classes are available from Summer 2026 through FY2027, that host organizations help promote the class and welcome attendees, and that requests can be submitted through an online form. At the bottom, contact information is provided: events@beta.nyc and the web address beta.nyc/host-a-class. The design uses green and blue tones throughout, with icons representing AI, mapping, open data, scheduling, hosting, and registration.
